Robbers fatally attack “street knights” in 13 seconds: Major-General Minh

At a press brief yesterday presided by Standing Deputy Chairman of People’s Committee Le Thanh Liem, deputy director of the Ho Chi Minh City police department Major-General Phan Anh Minh announced police nabbed two suspects who stabbed street guardians to death in Cach Mang Thang Tam Street in district 3 on May 13

At the press brief, head of the HCMC Police Department of Criminal  Investigation in Social Order (PC45) senior lieutenant-colonel Nguyen Dang Nam reported that after the shocking robber case took place, police officers of PC45, police in district 3 and relevant agencies were quick to look for the robbers.
Eventually, they nabbed the two suspects Nguyen Tan Tai, born in 1993 in Go Vap District and Nguyen Hoang Chau Phu, 1994, in Hoc Mon District.
As per their statement at police station, Tai enticed Phu to steal motorbikes and Phu agreed. Phu carried Tai on his Exciter motorbike to around the district. They discovered an expensive scooter in front of the house at 348C Cach Mang Thang Tam Street.
However, when they took away the scooter, they were stopped by “street guardians”. Tai used a knife to fatally slash these people before fleeing away from the scene; as result, two street guardians were stabbed to death while three were wounded seriously.
Raiding the houses of two guys, police confiscated a Exciter motorbike, a knife and some other items.
At the press brief, deputy chairman Le Thanh Liem said that city dwellers and authorities are grateful for “street knights” offering the condolences to dead guardians’ families.
Mr. Liem lauded four police units to arrest robbers in short time. Major-General Minh said that awards will be given to dead street guardians’ relatives and wounded men.
