Purchasing power highly increases during holidays

Supermarkets in HCMC reported purchasing power double to quadruple normal for the last three days of the Reunification Day and May Day holiday.

A representative of Co.op Mart supermarkets said that the highest increase was from fresh food, processed food, frozen items, bear and beverages.
Household appliances and fashion items saw double normal consumption thanks to discounts under the system's promotional programs.
Lotte Mart in District 7 reported surging customers in recent days especially in evenings. The most purchased items comprise meat, fish, fruits, vegetables and fruits.
The supermarket has offered 5-49 percent discounts for over 1,000 commodities during the holidays.
Large commercial centers such as Vincom, Vivo City and E-mart have also been crowded with shoppers, visitors and holidaymakers. Many have come to amusement sites in these centers to avoid outside hot and muggy weather.

According to Sai Gon Giai Phong reporters’ record, prices of most commodities in supermarkets have been stable thanks to abundant and diversified supply.
Traders in markets told Sai Gon Giai Phong that prices have been steady and the most consumed items include food, fruits and clothes.
