President of Argentina visits Ho Chi Minh City

The Argentine President is on an official visit to Vietnam at the invitation of President Truong Tan Sang.

At the reception, Mr. Quan expressed his belief that the co-operation between the two countries will develop further following the President’s visit and promised that HCMC will create favorable conditions for Argentinean businesses to invest in the City.

On her part, President Fernandez de Kirchner agreed that HCMC and Argentina establish and promote relationships in all fields.

She also shared the City leader's view that the two sides should encourage their respective businesses to increase mutual visits in search of investment opportunities.

The two sides discussed co-operation possibilities between Vietnam and Argentina in the fields of energy, biotechnology research, investment and tourism.

Earlier on the same day, the Argentine President visited the historical Cu Chi underground tunnels.

On her visit to Cu Chi Tunnel, she expressed admiration of the fighting spirit and will of the Vietnamese people in their struggle to gain national independence.

She told the media that from a young age, she was informed of Vietnam’s desire for independence, unification, and was very excited to visit the country.

Argentine’s President affirmed that both Vietnam and Argentina today are developing market economies and developing countries, there are many favorable conditions for better cooperation between the two countries, contribute to the development of the global economy as well as further strengthen South-South cooperation.
