The delegation also took part in the launch of children’s reading room at Xieng Khouang Province’s library which is a friendship project that was built by the two cities.
Vice Chairman of the HCM City People's Committee and head of the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association, Mr. Huynh Cach Mang emphasized that the photo exhibition and the launch of children’s reading room are important and significant events, celebrating the great festival of the two countries, Vietnam-Laos Solidarity and Friendship Year 2017. It showed the sentimentality of Vietnamese Party and State for the authorities and people of Laos’ province.
The Vietnamese leaders also offered incense and flowers to the monument in commemoration of the Vietnam-Laos special fighting alliance in the province. More than 15,000 soldiers of Vietnam and Pathet Lao fell during the war in Xieng Khouang.
