Netherlands supports HCMC's climate change adaptation projects

Politburo member, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan yesterday received Ms. Sigrig Kaag, Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation of the Netherlands.

At the reception, the city Party chief said that the Netherlands is one of biggest trade partners of Vietnam among the European countries.
Lat year, the two-ways trade turnover between Vietnam and Netherlands reached at US$ 7.77 billion including the bilateral trade turnover between Ho Chi Minh City and Netherlands was at US$ 1.2 billion.  
Secretary Nguyen Thien Nhan thanked the partner’s assistance for carrying out the city's projects on climate change adaptation and establishment of the largest bonsai transaction center in Vietnam.

Additionally, the city leader desired the Netherlands to support and cooperate with Ho Chi Minh City in adopting anti-flooding program and building smart urban… 

Ms. Sigrig Kaag shared the Netherlands’s experiences in the fields of water resource management, science & technology application and solutions to help Vietnam in food export promotion.

On the same day, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong also met Ms. Sigrig Kaag, Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation of the Netherlands.
