National Day of Thailand held in HCMC

The Thai Consulate-General in Ho Chi Minh City yesterday held a solemn ceremony to mark the 90th anniversary of the National Day of Thailand (December 5, 1927- 2017).

At the ceremony, Thai consul general in HCMC Ureerat Ratanaprukse affirmed that Thailand- Vietnam strategic partnership relation has blossomed since it was officially established in 2013. 

Currently, Thailand is the biggest trade partner of Vietnam in ASEAN region as the bilateral trade turnover reached at US$ 12.5 billion in the first ten months of the year, and is expected to gain at US$ 20 billion by 2020. 

In parallel, Ho Chi Minh City, Ba Ria- Vung Tau and Dong Nai provinces are three localities attracting the largest investment capital of the partner, said Ms. Ureera Ratanaprukse.

Speaking at the celebration, Deputy Standing Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Le Thanh Liem said that the city has attracted more than 180 investment projects from Thailand with total capital of over US$ 270 million. 

On behalf of the city authority, Mr. Le Thanh Liem highly appreciated important role of the Thai Consulate-General as well as Consul general Mrs. Ureerat Ratanaprukse in strengthening the friendship and multifaceted cooperation relations between Ho Chi Minh City with Thailand’s localities in the fields of trade, investment, culture, education and tourism cooperation.
