The Ministry holds responsible any team or individual for structural damages and faults occurring on the expressway, soon after completion of the project.

Concerned authorities have been asked to propose ways to handle those failing their responsibilities and should report faults along the road to the transport ministry by November 30.

The 61.9 kilometer HCMC-Trung Luong Expressway connects HCMC to the Mekong Delta. Ever since it opened to traffic in February last year, parts of the road are already sinking and depressions have occurred along stretches of the expressway, showing clearly that the construction has been faulty.

The expressway includes a 40-kilometer stretch from the Dem Market in Binh Chanh District of HCMC to Chau Thanh District in the Mekong Delta province of Tien Giang. An additional 21.9 kilometer road connects to other areas in the delta.
