Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Dinh La Thang yesterday talked with Party Secretary and Lord Mayor of Vientiane Sinlavong Khoutphaythoune and members of Vientiane delegation.
The city’s party chief said that Ho Chi Minh City and Vientiane have achieved good results via cooperation programs since his visit to Laos in May 2016.
A delegation of Ho Chi Minh City came to Vientiane to transfer technology to city's experts and collaborate with the city in trade & investment. Mr.Thang said.
Ho Chi Minh City also decided to increase number of scholarships for Vientiane pupils and students, he added.
Mr. Sinlavong Khoutphathoune said that Vientian expects to learn experiences about finance, tax and customs from Ho Chi Minh City to increase budged revenue for his city.
He suggested Ho Chi Minh City to actively support his city in development of livestock farming and beef consumption.
He expected HCMC to soon establIsh a tourism & trade center in Vientiane this year to welcome the event of Laos Tourism Year 2018 and conference of Mekong sub-regional tourism cities' m ayors held in Vientian.
Responding to his desires, the city leader affirmed that HCMC is willing to share experiences of financial management, budget revenue and customs with the neighboring country.
Currently, HCMC has a large demand of beef consumption, however, functional agencies need to find effective ways of transportation to absolutely ensure product quality and reasonable price.
The city leader highly appreciated potential of Vientiane in tourism, and he affirmed that HCMC will promote further comprehensive cooperation to exploit strengths of cooperation and continue deepening the friendship and cooperation relations of the two cities.
