HCMC to implement 39 new social housing projects

The Department of Construction said that Ho Chi Minh City will continue implementing 39 new social housing projects with 44,700 apartments over the total area of 140 hectares from 2016 to 2020.

So far, eight projects with 4,200 apartments have started construction over 7.4 hectares and 12 projects with 11,700 apartments have been approved over 30 hectares.

This year, the city will complete four projects providing 1,764 apartments and speed up the progress of five and start work on six others.

Nearly 600 apartments from six social housing projects funded by the state budget have been put into operation and opened for dwellers. It is expected that the city will have another 252 apartments from 35 Ho Hoc Lam project by the first quarter next year.

The project invested by Hoang Quan Company will supply 718 apartments. Of these, 252 apartments will be handed over to the city for rent or lease purchase and the rest number will be sold or rented out to eligible customers by the company.
