HCMC to build flyover to ease congestion in routes to airport

HCMC Transport Department is going to build a flyover above Nguyen Kiem-Nguyen Thai Son roundabout in Go Vap district to reduce traffic jam in routes leading to Tan Son Nhat International Airport, said director Bui Xuan Cuong on December 4.

The project will cost at least VND504 billion (US$22.24 million). Of these, VND367.7 billion will be for building the flyover and VND351 billion for site clearance, compensation, management and consultancy.

The flyover is designed in N shape comprising two 367.7 meter branches from Nguyen Kiem to Nguyen Thai Son street and Hoang Minh Giam steet and a 362.8 meter branch from Hoang Minh Giam to Nguyen Thai Son street.

Besides the flyover, the project will broaden the roundabout, install LED lighting system and plant trees in the area.
