HCMC strives to put into use 272km of roads by 2020

Up to April 2018, HCMC had put into use 97.6/272 km of roads, accounting for 35.88 percent; built 32/76 new bridges, reaching 42.1 percent; the city’s land fund for traffic accounted for 8.85/12.2 percent.

Those figures were reported at a meeting to review the implementation on the city’s program of reducing traffic congestion.

Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong said in the upcoming time, the city will develop traffic infrastructure system for road, rail, waterway and air, focusing on ring roads, and urban railway routes which are forecast to cost total investment capital of up to VND 284trillion.

As plan, HCMC would strive to put into use 272km roads by 2020. As that, from now till 2020, breakthrough solutions are expected to be implemented throughout the city’s authorities.
