HCMC' s fire prevention and fighting police celebrates its traditional day

A ceremony celebrating the 55th anniversary of Fire Police Forces’ traditional day (October 4, 1961), the 15th anniversary of Fire Prevention Day (October 4, 2001), and 10-year anniversary of establishment of the Ho Chi Minh City's Fire Prevention and Fighting Police Department was held in the city yesterday

A ceremony celebrating the 55th anniversary of Fire Police Forces’ traditional day (October 4, 1961), the 15th anniversary of Fire Prevention Day (October 4, 2001), and 10-year anniversary of establishment of the Ho Chi Minh City's Fire Prevention and Fighting Police Department was held in the city yesterday.

In attendance were Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Dinh La Thang, Chairman of HCMC People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong, and Deputy Minister of Public Security Pham Dung.

Colonel Le Tan Buu, chief of HCM City's Firefighting and Prevention Police Department, made a look back at the tradition and activities of the department over the past 10 years as the department saved hundreds of lives and property worth ten thousands of billions of Vietnamese dong.

Chairman of HCMC People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong honored the department’s achievements. He asked the city Fire Prevention and Fighting Police Department to focus on applying information technology in fire prevention and control, rescue.

On this occasion, the department received the First-class Fatherland Protection Order presented by the State President. Groups and individuals of the unit were presented certificates of merit by the Ministry of Public Security.
