HCMC leaders visit heroes fighting for national liberation

A delegation of Ho Chi Minh City’s officials led by Secretary of the City’s Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan on July 25 visited Vietnamese heroic mother, war veterans, wounded soldiers and families of martyrs on the occasion of the 71st anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27).

The head of the Party committee of Ho Chi Minh City presented gift to Vietnamese Heroic Mother Le Thi Cach whose husband and children bravely sacrificed themselves for the national liberation and unification in Ho Chi Minh City.
He also visited Colonel General Phan Trung Kien, Member of Central Committee of the Vietnamese Communist Party, Deputy Minister of National Defense; and military veteran Dinh Cong Dac who was exposed to toxic chemicals during his service and has four children suffered the effects of these chemical poison.
The Secretary of the municipal Party Committee expressed deep gratitude to the heroic mother and wounded soldiers for their great contribution and sacrifice towards the cause of national liberation and reconstruction.
On the same day, Head of Commission for Inspection of Ho Chi Minh city Party Committee Nguyen Van Hieu also led a delegation of city’s officials paid a visit to Duy Tien nursing center for wounded soldiers, Liem Can nursing center for wounded soldiers and national contributors and Kim Bang nursing center for wounded soldiers in the northern province of Ha Nam.
Meanwhile, Head of the municipal Party Committee’s Commission for Internal Affairs Tran The Luu visited the Long Dat nursing center for wounded soldiers and national contributors in the Southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau; and presented gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers in HCMC’s Thu Duc district, including Nguyen Thi Ngung, Nguyen Thi Thuan and Nguyen Thi Ngoc Manh.
