HCMC leaders receive delegation from Lao Houaphan province

Secretary of the HCMC Party Committee Dinh La Thang, chairman of the city People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong and yesterday afternoon had a talk with a high ranking delegation from Houaphan province, Laos, led by secretary of the provincial Party Committee Vansay Phengsumma in a visit to HCMC.

Mr. Dinh La Thang affirmed the significance of the visit during the two countries’ preparations for the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations establishment and the 40th anniversary of Vietnam-Lao Friendship and Cooperation Treaty. These have developed and looked after by late President Ho Chi Minh, late President Kaysone Phomvihane and other leader generations of the two parties, states and peoples of the two countries.

Reporting cooperation between HCMC and the province, Mr. Thang said that the two localities had regularly sent delegations to share information about development experiences.
 
The province’s headquarters financed by HCMC has contributed to facilitating the provincial leadership and urban beauty. In economics, HCM has created advantageous conditions for businesses to conduct investment surveys in Houaphan.
 
Mr. Thang proposed Mr. Phengsumma to continue creating conditions for the two sides to intensify cooperation in culture, education, sports and tourism and for HCMC businesses to invest in the province and consider training two interpreters for the city every year. On its side, the city will consider granting 10 scholarships a year depending on the province’s need and assist to train provincial cadres.
 
Mr. Vansay Phengsumma thanked HCMC leaders for receiving the delegation, affirmed that provincial leaders will continue facilitating overall cooperation with localities of Vietnam including HCMC and proposed the city to continue investing in the province especially in agriculture and breeding.
