HCMC hopes US to become top investor

The Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee’s Secretary Dinh La Thang appreciated the US-ASEAN Business Council’s role in boosting investment and trading between the US and Vietnam and hoped that the US will soon become the top investor in HCMC.

The Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee’s Secretary Dinh La Thang appreciated the US-ASEAN Business Council’s role in boosting investment and trading between the US and Vietnam and hoped that the US will soon become the top investor in HCMC.

The secretary made the statement while receiving the US-ASEAN Business Council during its visit to the city on March 17.

Mr. Michael Michalak, the council’s senior vice president, said that after contacting local agencies and business communities in Hanoi and HCMC, he realized their willingness to receive the Trans-Pacific Partnership and start a new investment wave.

On the same day, HCMC People’s Committee Chairman Nguyen Thanh Phong met with Mr. Shane Tedjarati, chairman of Honeywell International, Inc. Mr. Tedjarati has come to promote cooperation and investment projects in Vietnam.

The American multinational conglomerate company produces a variety of commercial and consumer products, engineering services and aerospace systems.
