HCMC honors excellent young entrepreneurs

The standing board of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and Young Entrepreneurs Association in HCMC last night organized the 10th awarding ceremony to honor excellent young entrepreneurs in HCMC.

Attending the ceremony was HCMC Party Chief Nguyen Thien Nhan, Chairman of city People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong and 300 outstanding young business people, standing for thousands of entrepreneurs in HCMC.
The 10th awards highlights domestic businesses' sustainable development achievements as well as their connectivity with localities to develop and support young start-ups nationwide.
At the event, ten excellent young entrepreneurs and seven outstanding young entrepreneurs in fields such as construction, tourism, real estate and wooden production were honored.
Mr. Nguyen Hong Son, secretary of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union in HCMC, said that the 17 winners got the total revenue of VND11 trillion (US$472 million) with tax payment reaching VND400 billion. They provided jobs for over 3,000 workers.
Congratulating the winners at the ceremony, chairman Nguyen Thanh Phong encouraged them to innovate and create difference for their products.
Over 30 years of Doi moi (renewal), the number of young entrepreneurs has been more and more increased showing their self-motivation and efficiency in production and trading.
Many businesses have affirmed their prestige and brand names with products meeting consumers’ demand, he added.
Being aware of the important role of business people for the city and the country’s development, Chairman Phong said that HCMC has made efforts to develop a community of businesses in accordance with the current law; prompted them to improve business ethics, well perform social responsibilities and compete healthily.
Mr. Phong hoped that entrepreneurs to say no to law violations, uphold the spirit of national pride and business ethics, compete healthily and cooperate with each other.
Despite of many difficulties, the city will always stand side by side with entrepreneurs in an effort to create advantageous business environment for them to develop in the domestic market and in the world.
