Ho Chi Minh City will give priorities to reduce traffic jam, flooding and environmental pollution and focus on urban planning for sustainable development in the upcoming time, said deputy chairman of the city People’s Committee Le Thanh Liem on October 27.
Local authorities will create the best conditions for investors including French companies to attend in socioeconomic development, he said at the opening ceremony of Vietnamese-French Businesses Seminar 2016.
The seminar attracting 100 French and 250 Vietnamese businesses is a chance for the two sides to build cooperation plans, he said.
According to statistics from the General Customs Department, Vietnam-France trade relations have been developing in recent years.
Vietnam’s export turnover to France hit US$2.4 billion in 2014, up 9.1 percent compared to 2013.
Major export items comprise phone components, footwear, garments, seafood, coffee, wood and wooden products.
