HCMC & Germany’s Leipzig city boost cooperation

Politburo Member, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan received Mr. Torsten Bonew, Deputy Mayor of Germany's Leipzig city yesterday.

At the meeting, the Party chief highly appreciated Leipzig city’s strengths and cooperation potentialities in the fields of industry, information technology and education.

City Party chief Nhan also shared socio- economic achievements of Ho Chi Minh City in recent years. 
In educational sector, Secretary Nhan hoped that Leipzig leader would introduce experts in the city's high- level education centers to Ho Chi Minh City, continue to offering scholarships as well as further connection between Vietnam and Germany universities.

Mr. Nguyen Thien Nhan desired companies from Leipzig city would eye on municipal waste treatment projects, suggesting that Leipzig leader should call for more investors in Vietnam.

The deputy mayor of Leipzig city expressed his impression with the city’s development, and stressed that Leipzig city’s businesses would love to boost cooperation with Ho Chi Minh City in the fields of health, high-quality education and vocational training. 

On the same day, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan met State Secretary of the Ministry of Economics, Employment and Health of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Dr Stefan Rudolph.
