HCMC cooperates with Asian nations to produce, consume farm produce

Ho Chi Minh City last night reached an agreement with delegations from Japan and some nations in Asia to build production and consumption connectivity projects for the city’s key farm produce such as orchids, mango and white legs shrimp.

According to the agreement, HCMC will organize production and supply the products to the partners while foreign partners will assist the city to produce, trade and consume its key products.
 
Specifically they will transfer technologies, send experts to do international market surveys, train human resources and improve farming land and seedlings.
 
Products of these projects will be supplied to Japan and other Asian nations in long term.
 
Deputy chairman of the city People’s Committee Le Thanh Liem said that pledges of the agreement should be conducted best to learn from experience and broaden cooperation to other fields.
 
Formerly, these delegations had worked with Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Vinh Phuc, Bac Ninh provinces and Hanoi to build farm produce value chains meeting international standards for some products such as aromatic banana, persimmon, Canh orange, Dien pomelo, carrot and vegetables.
