HCMC builds condos for workers, kindergartens in industrial parks

Planning to build condos for workers and preschools in industrial parks in Ho Chi Minh City was discussed in a meeting between Party Secretary Dinh La Thang, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City’s Party Committee Tat Thanh Cang with the Vietnam General Labor Union on October 29.

Planning to build condos for workers and preschools in industrial parks in Ho Chi Minh City was discussed in a meeting between Party Secretary Dinh La Thang, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City’s Party Committee Tat Thanh Cang with the Vietnam General Labor Union on October 29.

The planning of building public constructions in export processing zone and industrial parks for the period 2016 - 2020, with the vision to 2030 include accommodation for workers, cultural houses, outdoor sport stadiums, kindergartens,  supermarkets, health centers and parks.

In the first period it is scheduled to build these construction in Linh Trung 1 - 2 Export Processing Zones; Tan Thuan 1 – 2 Industrial Park. Expenditure for building dormitories and preschools in one hectare is VND141 billion, in two hectare is VND246 billion and three hectare is VND334 billion.

The Union proposed the city Party Committee and city People’s Committee clearing the land for construction and investing in building infrastructure.  Chairman of the union Bui Van Cuong sent thank-you to the Party Committee and People’s Committee for measures and policies to take care of worker class. In the next time, the union will concentrate on protecting workers’ rights and train more union members.

Mr. Thang asserted that the city will support the union’s activities in taking care of workers, promising that city leaders will adopt policies to benefit laborers which will also contribute to the city’s economy’s growth.
