HCMC boosts cooperation with Japanese localities

A delegation from Ho Chi Minh City, led by Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong, on April 5 started a working visit to Japan to boost cooperation with the Japanese localities.

The delegation has working sessions with Aichi, Nagano and Hokkaido provinces during the nine-day visit.
The visit aims to affirm Ho Chi Minh City’s commitment to develop a comprehensive relation with Japanese localities, enhance experience and cultural exchange, attract Japan’s investment in various fields .
The city’s authorities hope to boost cooperation with Aichi prefecture in the fields of economics, trading, investment, culture and people-to-people diplomacy, especially in transport, storage, logistics and high-tech industrial production.
The delegation will learn about solutions of environmental and water pollution in Nagano province.
City’s leaders plan to also visit local smart-agriculture models, seek cooperation opportunities in hi-tech agriculture in Hokkaido; as well as promote tourism development and trade exchanges between the two sides.
