In a bid to have enough blood for treatment and emergency in Ho Chi Minh City in 2018, city authorities required all sectors and unions to encourage people to give blood voluntarily
HCMC authorities call for 230,000 voluntary blood donors
The municipal People’s Committee ordered government agencies, district people’s committees, social unions, companies, schools and military units to increase information of voluntary blood donation so that 230,000 voluntary donors will give their blood with safe blood reaching 94 percent to meet the demand for treatment and emergency.
As per the authority, departments and sector should encourage at least 30 percent staffs, union members and students to give their blood in 2018. Units should liaise with Humanitarian Blood Donation center to organize blood donation in departments or companies.
Medical workers are responsible for testing donors’ health condition and select eligible donors so that the city will enough 120,000 donors in the year.
Additionally, the center and blood donation steering boards in districts ad communes also encouraged 110,000 people in localities to give blood.
