The Government will create mechanism to create comfortable environment in spurring the city’s development, said Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc at a working session with the city leaders in HCM City on June 27.
In attendance were deputy prime ministers, Vuong Dinh Hue, Truong Hoa Binh and Vu Duc Dam, Minister of Public Security To Lam.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc hailed achievements of Ho Chi Minh City in the first 6 month of this year.
The gross regional domestic product (GRDP) expanded by 7.47 percent, while the consumer price index (CPI) increased by 1.79 percent. The city provided nearly 144 trillion VND (6.48 billion USD) to the State budget in the period. The total social investment capital reached 125 trillion VND (5.62 billion USD), presenting a year-on-year increase of 9.1 percent. Nearly 17,000 new enterprises have been established in the first six months of 2016.
Secretary of the city Party Committee Dinh La Thang asked the Government to urgently provide a specific mechanism to boost cooperation with neighboring localities.
Ministries’ leaders have also agreed with the city’s proposals of asking for more authority to regulate some sectors and fields in accordance with the city’s situation, such as assessing projects, simplification of investment procedures, usage of financial reserves, decision on collecting types of fees.
