The company is the investor of the smart pumping system which test operation has started since September to cope with flooding in the street.
Mr. Cuong said that the street and drainage system located low. Therefore, wastewater could not flow out in a timely manner in case of high tide and might cause flooding. Hence, the company had installed electric pumps to remove wastewater out.
The smart pumping system should function with the capacity of 27,000-96,000 cubic meters an hour when there are heavy rains to completely solve flooding in the area. In case of small rains, electric pumps will run to save costs.
On the other hand, the system will see longevity reduction if operating interruptedly during short times, added Mr. Cuong.
According to the company, the system well operated during the rain in the evening of November 8 so Nguyen Huu Canh street was not flooded. Previously, it had installed an observation device to measure the rainfall in the area.
