Dam Sen Park fined $1,980 for bikini-clad dance performance

Ho Chi Minh City-based Dam Sen Water Park was fined VND45 million ($1,980) for organizing the bikini-clad dance without permission.

In its document, the Department of Culture and Sports said that the bikini-clad dance on June 4 has content against Vietnamese cultural values and been without permission of responsible agencies. The performance has caused concern amongst the public.

Moreover, the water park was banned from holding events in one month after provocative dance show. 

Before, social network users raised their concern on the sexy performance clip of four dancers in bikinis to attract visitors, many of whom are children. People said it is improper to have such provocative performance in public places where many children come in summer vacation.

After newspaper reflected residents’ complaints of the show in the park, culture authority in the city liaised with park management board about the case. Management board had to write reports of the case to authority as well as sent a letter of apology to visitors and parents.
