City tourism Dept offers apology to Egyptian tourist

Ho Chi Minh City tourism department and district 1 authority openly gave their apology to a female Egyptian tourist who was robbed of her bag in downtown HCMC last week.

Leaders of the Department and district 1 yesterday came to the hotel where 22 year old Ali Aldoh stays to offer apology.

Ms. Van Thi Bach Tuyet, director of the department said that the city hopes Ali Aldoh can continue her trip in Vietnam.

Ali Aldoh said she did not share her robbery via social network and press but she told her family to close her bank account only. She added that she felt sad because she lost the amount of US$230. Yet she appreciated the local government’s and press aid

Ali Aldoh said that the robbery did not deter from travelling to the Southeast Asian nation again because she likes this country much.

Ben Thanh Tourist Company has announced to sponsor Aldoh’s trip across Vietnam.

Before, on March 11, while Ali Aldoh was walking with a foreign friend along Luong Huu KHanh Street in District 1, two men snatched her bag containing cash and ATM card.

She was panic-stricken and could not stop crying after that because all her personal document and money were robbed. Locals then took her to the police.
