City to open exhibition on Vietnamese National Assembly visit to France

An exhibition under theme “The first National Assembly of Vietnam paid a friendly visit to the French Republic in 1946 - Symbol of peace aspiration" is scheduled to take place in Ho Chi Minh City Book Street, District 1 on March 18- 24.

The exhibition will introduce more than 150 photos on the friendly visit of the Vietnamese National Assembly to France from April 16 to May 23, 1945 preserved at the National Archives II.

The visit was not only the first diplomatic activity of the first National Assembly of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam but also one of important diplomatic activities to seek peace during the period when the French colonialism drastically implemented the machination to invade Vietnam for the second time.

The visit was made at an invitation of the National Constituent Assembly of the French Republic.
