City to auction eight plots of land

Eight plots of city land belonging to the public, which have recently been recovered by the city government, will be sold by auction this year, it was recently announced. The properties are reported to have been left vacant or used for inappropriate purposes.

The municipal government has directed relevant authorities to outline schemes for the auction.

One area of land up for sale is a 101 square meter plot at 92 Thach Thi Thanh Street, District 1.

Binh Chanh District will auction one plot of land occupying 8,557 square meters at B7 Nguyen Huu Tri Street, Tan Tuc Town.

Districts 12 and Binh Tan have 1,286 square meters in Thanh Loc Ward and 21,957 square meters in An Lac Ward to sell respectively.

District 7 will auction a plot of just less than one hectare at 136 A Bui Van Ba Street, Tan Thuan Dong Ward.

Thu Duc District has three plots of land to be auctioned. One is located at residential block 1, Linh Trung Ward, another at 1310 Kha Van Can Street, Linh Trung Ward and the other at residential block 2, Linh Trung Ward with areas of 1,643, square meters, 5,452 and 2,820 respectively.

The recovery of other unused public property in the city is under consideration.

Previously in April, the municipal government allowed District 8 to recover and sell 70 houses and 14 warehouses and grounds belonging to the public, which had been left vacant or used illegally.

The proceeds gained from the auction, expected to total nearly VND500 billion (US$28.1 million), will be spent on urban renewal projects within the district.
