City launches contest on Vietnam, Laos relationship

The Propaganda and Education Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee has issued certain rules and regulations for organizing the contest “Learn History of Special Relationship between Vietnam and Laos”.

Accordingly, gov’t officials, party members, soldiers, union members, youth league members, ordinary citizens and foreigners living and working in HCMC can participate in the contest.

Contestants can send their entries by post to the Propaganda and Education Department of HCMC Party Committee at 127 Truong Dinh Street, Ward 7, District 3; or by email to: phongtuyentruyenbantuyengiaotu@yahoo.com.vn.

At the same time, the Central Women's Union of Vietnam organized the launch of a writing contest on the topic “Vietnamese women reflect self-confidence, self-esteem, loyalty and responsibility”. The article should not exceed 1,000 words, and must be based on real persons, with clear addresses, covering the period 1986 to now.

Representatives of the Organizing Committee said the competition aims at detecting and demonstrating a typical woman’s moral qualities which meet the requirements of the reform era in the country.

This contest is one of the activities to implement Directive 03 of the Vietnam Politburo for the campaign “Study and Follow the Moral Example of Late President Ho Chi Minh”.

The competition is open until October 30, 2012.
