City council session saves VND110 million thanks to e-cabinet model

The 15th session of the 9th Ho Chi Minh City People’s Council wrapped up on July 13 after three working days, saving VND110 million (US$4,709) worth of office supplies thanks to e-cabinet or paperless meeting model, according to chairwoman of the council Nguyen Thi Le.

Surveys conducted by the National Assembly Delegation Office under the People’s Council showed that most deputies estimated the e-cabinet model to be good or very good with documents being sent to them in a timely manner, she revealed.

At the closing session, deputies voted on 20 resolutions including the resolution on socioeconomic missions in the second half of 2019, a year on year increase of 0.4 time in the coefficient used for land price adjustments called the K coefficient, VND323 billion ($13.83 million) spending on innovative startup center construction, VND1.47 trillion ($62.93 million) on site clearance and compensation for the hi-tech park project, the list of 129 projects in need of land revocation or land use purpose transfer and supplementation or adjustment of some polices for sustainable poverty reduction.

The council will give priority to organization of extraordinary meetings to consider and decide important matters of the city, especially measures and policies to implement the inspection conclusion over Thu Thiem new urban area by the Government Inspectorate. These aims to resolve urgent problems in the city to better take care of the life of people, said chairwoman Nguyen Thi Le.
