Vietnamese Health Ministry creates fan page on MERS

Vietnamese Ministry of Health June 10 said that it has created a fanpage to update and provide the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS-CoV)-related information including prevention and warning to residents.

Through the pan page: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Ph%C3%B2ng-ch%E1%BB%91ng-MERS-CoV/1455739481406295?ref=bookmarks, the Ministry of Health expected people and organizations to exchange information and give feedbacks on MERS-CoV in order to jointly prevent the deadly disease.

On the same day, the Ministry asserted that until now, the Southeast Asian nation has not had any infection case of MERS-CoV.

In related news, tests of samples of a 23 year old girl carried out by Pasteur Institute in Ho Chi Minh City showed it is negative for EMRS virus.

The girl, who is an oversea student in Evergreene-ELM Houston in the US,  returned Vietnam and transited in South Korea for 16 hours. On June 7, she was hospitalized in the General Hospital in the Mekong City of Can Tho when she had a fever up to 40 celcius degree, headache and breathing failure.
