Vietnam tightens control travelers from Mers-CoV hit nations

Since the MERS-CoV, the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome caused by the Corona virus that has spread to over a dozen countries in the world and may penetrate into Vietnam, the Ministry of Health yesterday sent an urgent dispatch to Pasteur Institute and medical facilities asking to increase prevention.

As per the dispatch, Pasteur institute, institutes of Hygiene and Epidemiology were asked to enhance supervision on suspected cases and take blood samples for tests. Institutes must be ready to assist localities in prevent the disease when necessary.

The Ministry of Health also urged municipal and provincial departments of health to strictly supervise travelers from Mers-CoV hit nations on Tet holidays (Lunar New Year) and screen in order to early detect ill people who will be quarantined as per the regulation.
