The Vietnam Food Administration under the Ministry of Health yesterday said it had directed its sub-division in Ho Chi Minh City to take samples in the local market randomly for testing heavy metals and bacteria.
Herbalife is a global nutrition and weight management company selling and marketing nutritional and weight loss supplements.
Testing proved that the product met all Vietnamese standard of food safety.
The administration affirmed imported and domestically-made nutritional supplements in the country ought to be checked before circulating in the market.
The Thai Food and Drug Administration asserted that products Herbalife in Thailand are safe and not involved with the incident in India.
