VFA removes all substandard cosmetics, drugs

Vietnam’s Administration of Drug yesterday sent its document to the departments of health in the country saying that it banned whitening rice bran cosmetics of Cong Thanh Company from circulation.

Vietnam’s Administration of Drug yesterday sent its document to the departments of health in the country saying that it banned whitening rice bran cosmetics of Cong Thanh Company from circulation.

The Administration of Drug of Vietnam decided to remove 19 cosmetic products of Cong Thanh Company in 947  Nhon Hau 1 village in the Mekong delta province of Long An’s Tan An Town from supermarkets’ shelves as the company did not comply with ASEAN Cosmetic Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP). Cosmetic products and their ingredients must be produced by cosmetic GMP rules.

Subsequently, the administration ordered the manufacturer of cosmetic products to collect all products in the market and report the result to the administration before November 15.

Meantime, the administration also removed registration number of Proexen Tablet 200mg manufactured by Dea Han New Company and registered by Binex Company from the list of drugs which are allowed circulating in the country.

The moves are because it fails to meet the quality standard set by the Ministry of Health. The administration will not receive document to register of all medicines made by Dea Han New Company and registered by Binex Company for 12 months.
