Thirty kids hospitalized due to food poison

Deputy director of Tan Phu Hospital Dr. Luong Van Sinh yesterday announced 30 kids were taken to the hospital with symptoms of food poison in Tan Phu District in Ho Chi Minh.

Five of them were transferred to Children Hospital No.1 because they were in serious condition.
As per initial information, kids aged from seven to twelve were hospitalized in the district hospital. Till 3PM, five of them experienced low blood pressure and fatigue; therefore they were taken to Children Hospital No.1 for further treatment while other were kept at local infirmary.
Their relatives said that after the ceremony at the local church, they received a bread with ham made by a food company in Tan Phu District.
However, after eating the food, kids developed pain in belly, vomiting and diarrhea; they were rushed to the district infirmary for emergency treatment.
The incident was reported to the city’s food safety management board.
At present, the sixth food safety management board in Tan Phu District is taking samples for testing to verify the cause.
