Another satellite general clinic was opened in district 2 at 98 Thao Dien Street District 2 on August 8 by the district General Hospital and the medical center, the third of its kind.

The satellite clinic aims to offer inhabitant access to high-quality medical care within easy reach and to reduce pressure on big hospitals.
The three-story clinic located in an area of 754 square meters comprising of many specialized wards internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, odonto-stomatology, otolaryngology, ophthalmology, obstetrics, dermatology, traditional medicine, medical test, X-ray.
With the total investment of more than VND10 billion (about $430 000), the clinic is equipped with modern facilities like semi-auto biochemistry analyzer, automated hematology analyzer, ultrasound scanner, X-ray machine.
Seventeen doctors, two technicians and four nurses are working in the clinic to satisfy the demand of inhabitants.
Director of District 2 hospital Dr. Tran Van Khanh said after one-year preparation, the clinic can provide treatment as per the first phase. In the second phase, it will provide high-tech medical services .
The district General Hospital admits nearly 3,000 patients every day resulting in an overload. Accordingly, the hospital mangers decided to establish the satellite clinics to reduce patient overload.
Next time, the satellite clinics will supply vehicles to pick up patients at home facilitating them, said Dr. Khanh.
Deputy Head of the Department of Health Dr. Tang Chi Thuong expressed his praise for the district 2 hospital’s satellite clinic believing that model of satellite clinic will get success.
