Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on July 14 agreed to add a malaria control project to a list of projects funded by the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
The new scheme aims to promote malaria prevention in high-risk communities and enhance capacity and sustainability of the National Malaria Prevention and Control Program.
The Health Ministry will be responsible for the signing of non-refundable aid project and its implementation in accordance with ODA management and use regulations.
The same day, the PM also gave the go-ahead to preferential loans provided by the Spanish government for five projects, including four projects to upgrade hospitals in Quang Ngai, Bac Ninh, Gia Lai and Quang Nam provinces and a project on transport signal and control system in Da Nang city.
