Prices of nearly 1,937 medical services hiked in Hanoi

Public medical centers in Hanoi yesterday started to apply new prices of services on patients without health insurance cards as per the People’s Council’s decision No. 02/2019/NQ.

Prices of nearly 1,937 medical services hiked in Hanoi
Hospital raised fees on 10 types of examination and treatment services, bed prices, and 1,937 medical technique and testing.
Specifically, bed prices in first-class infirmaries’ intensive care units hiked from VND632,000 to VND678,000 ($27.1 - $29) a day while that in emergency room surged from VND336,000 to VND411,000 per day.
Examination for labor paper, injury document, periodic check-ups excluding testing and X-ray increased from VND120,000 to VND145,000.
A leader of the Hanoi Department of Health said that Hanoi has just 13.3 percent of uninsured patients; thereby, hike in hospital charges would neither affect the city’s consumer index nor create market price fluctuation.
As per the decision of the Hanoi People’s Council, those hospitalized before May 1 and discharged after the date will enjoy the old charges.
