Over 50 hospitals hike treatment charges for uninsured patients

More than 50 hospitals and first-class infirmaries in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Medicine University hospitals have raised treatment charges for uninsured patients, said the Ministry of Health yesterday.

Over 1,900 medical services will be applied for the new fees which increase by 25 percent.

Additionally, first-grade hospitals have increased medical fees and examination charges to VND39,000; the fees from the second-grade, third-grade and fourth-grade hospitals will be VND35,000; VND31,000; and VND29,000.

In various localities, people’s councils will decided time for new charge application. New prices will be equal or lower than old level.
