Over 4,000 Vietnamese HIV-positive children taken care of

Vietnam Administration of HIV/AIDS Control under the Ministry of Health and other related associations yesterday gave gifts to children living with HIV in the medical center in Ba Vi District of Hanoi where 77 orphans who are babies to 18 year old are taken care of.

Vietnam Administration of HIV/AIDS Control under the Ministry of Health and other related associations yesterday gave gifts to children living with HIV in the medical center in Ba Vi District of Hanoi where 77 orphans who are babies to 18 year old are taken care of.

Deputy Health Minister Professor Nguyen Thanh Long said that the country has had over 4,000 children living with HIV/AIDS and the Ministry has pledged to provide treatment and ARV drug to all HIV-positive children. Until now, most of these children are treated with the medication.

Deputy Health Minister Nguyen Thanh Long ordered health, education and labor, invalids and social affairs sectors and related agencies to propose policies and develop services for children in general and disadvantaged children in particularly to ensure that all of them can have opportunity to study and receive healthcare. All sectors must be mobilized in fighting against discrimination to children living with HIV.
