The system is also to help parents when they take their children to infirmaries for vaccination.

Addressing the launching ceremony, Deputy Health Minister Nguyen Thanh Long said that during 30 years of implementation of the national expanded immunization program in the country, hundreds of millions of vaccine doses were freely provided to kids and women contributing to preventing and controlling epidemics as well as reducing infection cases and deaths.

However, the program has faced numerous difficulties, particularly in managing vaccination. Many kids are not immunized fully every year.

Accordingly the system is expected to keep information of vaccination of kids in all infirmaries in districts, communes. Health staffs can rely on the system to remind parents of taking their children to hospital for immunization.

Mr. Long added that from June 1, all clinics across the country will use the management software. Parents will not need to bring schedule of their children. One year before, the management system was implemented in five cities and provinces; subsequently, most communes and wards have had the information of over 700,000 kids in two recent years and more than 1, 400 hospitals have used the system to update information.
