As cholera epidemic is plaguing Baghdad of Iraq and has spread across the country, the Department of Preventive Medicine under the Ministry of Heath yesterday said that it is keeping a close eye on the situation.
Though it is not likely that the disease will enter Vietnam because the disease caused bacteria Vibrio cholerae which is transmitting through contaminated food and water. Additionally, commercial and tourist exchange between the two countries in this time is not much. Yet the Department warned people not neglect the disease as some people can carry the disease but they did not know. Consequently, the epidemic can transmit into the Southeast Asian nation.
The Ministry of Health asked people to carry out good personal and environment hygiene including washing hands with soap before and after eating well-done food not raw meat especially not eat raw seafood.
