Health Minister commends surgeons of Children Hospital No.1 in HCMC

The Vietnamese Health Minister yesterday sent a letter of commendation to a team of surgeons of the Children Hospital No.1 in Ho Chi Minh City who had saved a stabbed neonate.

Health Minister Nguyen Thi Kim Tien expressed her happiness over the news that the team of surgeons of the hospital had saved the 12 day old baby stabbed in the head through eye socket.
 
The baby is a son of Vo Hong Duyen, 32 in Tan An Luong Commune in the Mekong delta province of Vinh Long.
 
The health minister said that the team of surgeons had made concerted efforts to save the baby and their efforts have been rewarded as the baby’s health condition was stable after the operation. She also asked the hospital to provide best treatment and medication to save the baby.
 
The hospital said that the operation was successful as injuries in baby’s brain did not cause serious damage on brain cell.
