Free ear reconstruction operation for children with congenital ear abnormalities

The National Otorhinorarynology Hospital of Vietnam and American surgeons are providing free examinations and surgeries for children suffering congenital ear abnormalities.

Hospital Director Professor Pham Tuan Canh said that the free treatment program lasts to March 9. Around 60 children with congenital ear deformities will benefit from the program.
Surgeons will use side cartilage and flap of skin to reconstruct kids’ edges of ears to ensure auditory function and aesthetic qualities.
Averagely, it takes 4-5 hours for an ear reconstruction operation.
