Electronic health record pilots in eight provinces

The Ministry of Health said that electronic health record was piloted in 26 medical clinics in communes of eight provinces from January , 2019.

As per the Ministry’s project, electronic health record will be piloted in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, the northern provinces of Lao Cai, Yen Bai, the central provinces of Ha Tinh, Khanh Hoa, the highlands province of Lam Dong and the Mekong delta province of Long An.
The pilot project will be carried out in these above-mentioned provinces for the period of 2018 – 2020. After the pilot time, it is scheduled that electronic health record will be implemented in the country from July, 2019.
The project was run according to the 12th-tenure Communist Party of Việt Nam (CPV) Central Committee’s resolution No. 20-NQ/TW with the aim of 95 percent of the population will have electronic health record by 2030.
Head of the IT Department Tran Quy Tuong said that a person will have an electronic health record in the nation’s electronic health record system. The system will give information of patients to doctor’s so as to facilitate treatment procedure.
The project is expected to help the health sector working out the policy better.
