After the Drug Administration of Vietnam had demanded an explanation from drugmaker DOPHARMA for hiking the prices of many imported and local drugs, the company told pharmacies it would roll back prices.

The company had earlier increased the prices on its own without getting approval from the drugs watchdog, according to the administration.

Besides asking for an explanation, the body also ordered the company to revert to the old prices, failing which it threatened to revoke its import license.
