A 37 year old anonymous pregnant hailing from Ha Tinh Town with 39 week pregnancy was rushed to the General Hospital when she had a shock and her vein and blood pressure could not be measured.

Medical workers provided her first aid and transferred her to Obstetrics Ward where obstetricians measured the baby’s heart beat of 60 times a minute. The woman moaned because of abdominal pain and vaginal bleeding.

After diagnosis and conversation over the case, surgeons decided to perform C-section on her. Surgeons detected intra-abdominal hemorrhage yet there was no baby in the womb.

However, the baby developed in the left of the mother's uterus which was bleeding.

Soon surgeons took out the baby weighing 3.1 kg out. Severe bleeding occurred soon because of placenta abruption; accordingly, doctors had to give her a blood transfusion.

Head of the Obstetrics Ward Dr. Nguyen Thi Thuy said that this is  the first time they saw a healthy baby delivered from an ectopic pregnancy. The woman and her baby could die without timely operation.

The woman is stable and she will be discharged from the hospital one week later.
