Charity program to conduct free surgeries for disadvantaged people

Thien Tam Fund and Vinmec International Hospital, both affiliates of Vingroup, plan to organize a charity program from April this year for free surgeries for disadvantaged people across the country.

Free operations will be conducted for two groups of people. The first group will include families living on the poverty line, families who served the cause of the nation and beneficiaries of social policies. The program will conduct 100 totally free surgeries for this group.

Under the program, 30 operations for child heart diseases such as Ventricular septal defect, Atrial septal defect; 30 plastic surgeries for children with more than five kilogram scoliosis-a curvature of the spine, dislocated hip; 30 digestive cancer operations for children with more than five kilogram colon and stomach cancer; and 60 surgeries for children without anus, biliary tract atrophy, cyst in bile duct, will be held without any payment involved.

The second group will include students who have won prizes at international competitions, athletes and actors who have received prizes or medals at international events, and their children. This group will pay only half the cost of the surgery. For them there will be 50 surgeries in all.


The organizers of the program will carefully select and verify the cases and inform each patient according upon receiving relevant documents of patient illnesses, from April 1-30.
