This action is to increase the immune system of babies against measles.

At the moment, the mentioned research has been given to the Research Council of the Ministry of Health to evaluate. It is expected that in the fourth quarter of 2018, 6-month-old babies will begin to receive measles vaccine.

In reality, many babies under 9 months old have been suffered from measles due to their mother’s low immune system and the inability to pass it to children.

Therefore, it is high time that the government reduced the age of measles vaccine injection while encouraging women of reproductive age to vaccinate properly. Simultaneously, related agencies should deliver wide-scale measles vaccination to highly potential subjects so that this disease can be eliminated in the nation in 2020.

The Ministry of Health is going to launch a campaign to give measles- rubella vaccine to children from 1 to 4 years old in 17 provinces that have high potential of the disease.

According to the representative of the Ministry of Health, although more than 95 percent of children nationwide have been injected with the vaccine, there are yet many who have not received proper vaccination, mostly in remote areas. This may lead to a possible outbreak in the future.
