4.2 million kids to receive measles-rubella vaccine shots

To curb outbreaks of measles, rubella amongst kids, the Ministry of Health has decided to launch vaccination campaign to give additional measles-rubella (MR) vaccine shots to children.

Over 4.2 million children in the 1-5 age group in the 2018-2019 period will benefit from the campaign.
The campaign includes two phases; the first one is from November to December, 2018 in 156 districts of 20 high-risk cities and provinces and the second is from January to February, 2019 in 262 districts of 37 cities and provinces.
Measles and rubella are dangerous contagious diseases caused by virus resulting in serious complications.
Worse, in the first ten months of 2018, measles kids surged drastically. More than 2,300 cases of infections had been recorded in 49 cities and provinces nationwide.
